Altrusa hosting District Four conference

Altrusa International of Greenwood is welcoming guests from across the Southeast this weekend.
The Greenwood chapter of the service organization is hosting the 68th annual Altrusa District Four conference, which kicked off Thursday and includes events throughout the weekend.

Greenwood Gravel Grind: Fourth annual off-paved road cycling event set for April 23

'Material Pulses'

The Museum of the Mississippi Delta’s upcoming exhibit will highlight the art of quilt-making.
“Material Pulses: Contemporary Quilts” will include 17 quilts made by seven different fiber artists from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

‘The Odd Couple’: Little Theatre to present Neil Simon comedy

Greenwood Little Theatre is set to present the Neil Simon classic comedy “The Odd Couple.”
The play is being directed by Will Perkins and Katie Acosta, who will also be performing in the show.
Perkins said the theme of Simon’s play highlights the endurance of friendship.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
