Little Theatre kicks off holiday season

A Christmas Carol

Greenwood Little Theatre is jump-starting the holiday season with a time-honored classic.

A cast of 35 will perform Charles Dickens’ familiar tale of redemption, “A Christmas Carol.”

“It’s going to be a really good lead into the Christmas season,” said Claudia White, the play’s director.

The Leflore County Elementary School first-grader is the youngest published male author in the United States and the youngest person to be commercially published in Mississippi. His book, “The Wonderful Adventures of Rufus & Burtha, The Possums,” was printed by Publish America in September.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
