Into the Woods

Greenwood Little Theatre will kick off its 2014-15 season with Stephen Sondheim’s musical “Into the Woods.”

“It’s quite entertaining,” said Cameron Abel, director of the musical. “It runs a span of music genres, so we knew we were going to have to get a head start on rehearsals.”

Antique Show & Sale

When Main Street Greenwood was looking for a new fundraiser to help replenish its facade fund, the organization partnered with the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.

Group brings in 11,000+ cans of food

This year’s Youth CAN Make a Difference Food Drive on Sunday produced more than 11,000 cans from door-to-door collections and monetary donations.

“It gets bigger every year,” said Catherine Dunn, who is with Immaculate Heart of Mary’s Catholic Youth Organization.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
