Love brought Kedra Glass back to her hometown.
The Greenwood native had been living in St. Louis for 20 years. A few years ago, she was visiting her hometown and attended a blues concert at the Leflore County Civic Center, where she reconnected with Chris Glass, who is now her husband.

300 Oaks Road Race: Chamber prepares for 44th annual road race

Greenwood’s scenic and long-running road race will be held next Saturday.
The Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce will present the annual 300 Oaks Road Race.
“This is the 44th annual event, and it’s one of the three oldest road races in Mississippi,” said Beth Stevens, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
