Me, Too offers advice for girls

The 15th annual Me, Too Conference will focuses on coming-of-age presentations, information on puberty and empowering girls as they approach womanhood.

The event is for girls ages 8 to 14 and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Greenwood Middle School, located at 1200 Garrard Ave.

‘Shakespeare’ cast shines on stage

“Shakespeare Summer Scene Fest” features a talented cast of 11- to 18-year-olds who light up the Greenwood Little Theatre stage.

Directed by Steve Iwanski of the Greenwood Shakespeare Project, the performance includes 12 scenes from 10 different William Shakespeare plays, ranging from drama to battle scenes to comedy.

Local news matters to Greenwood. It keeps the people informed and connected. It asks the questions they want answered. It elevates what’s good, and it exposes what’s not.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
