Ceremony to honor victims of Holocaust

Ilse Goldberg vividly remembers the day when Nazi storm troopers paid a visit to her parents’ home in Breslau, Germany.

2 jailed after weekend drug arrests

They share the same last name, and both were picked up on drug charges over the weekend.

But neither the charges nor the two Greenwood men are related, says Police Chief Ray Moore.

Jeremy Johnson, 22, 102 Downing Drive, and Diteke Johnson, 45, 142 Ridgeland Road, remained in the Leflore County Jail this morning.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
