Registrations for Saturday’s ninth annual Bikes, Blues & Bayous are steadily increasing as the event draws near.

“We’re at 850 right now. Indications point to getting 900 by Friday night,” said Richard Beattie, the chairman of the Bikes, Blues & Bayous Committee of the Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce.

City to seek home renovation grant

The Greenwood City Council gave approval Tuesday to seek some $500,000 in funds for home renovations for low-income residents.

The council approved the hiring of Gregory and Associates Inc. to prepare the application for the 2016 Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME).
