Heavy rains have hit the Delta just as the major cotton and peanut harvests have begun.
According to Alan Campbell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson, Greenwood-Leflore Airport received 5.19 inches of rain from Saturday afternoon through midnight Sunday.
