Because of tough economic times and a drop in annual donations, the United Way of Leflore County is seeking $3,000 in immediate funds from the public to fund the agencies it serves.
“We have to have $205,000 to allocate. We didn’t have that this year,” said Freda Maxey, executive director of United Way.
