Leflore County Undersheriff Jimmy Tindall, in a law enforcement career that stretched for more than 40 years, touched a lot of lives.

The results from Tuesday’s Democratic primary, once official, mean that Glenn won’t be facing a May 21 runoff against her nearest challenger, Andrew Powell.

Two charged in connection with gunfire

Two Greenwood men remained in the Leflore County Jail this morning charged with attempted aggravated assault in a Monday night shooting incident.

Bond for Henry Kinds, 27, 105 Elm St., and Travarus Keithley, 29, 415 Ave. G, had not been set this morning.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
