Greenwood Acting Police Chief Johnny Langdon Sr. is set to retire at the end of the month.
Langdon, a longtime officer with the department, has been serving as chief since Henry Purnell retired in September.
Mayor Carolyn McAd-ams said Langdon announced his intention to retire at a weekly department head meeting Thursday.
