A jury is expected to render its verdict today in the murder trial of Walter Carpenter.
Carpenter, 73, is on trial in connection with the shooting death in 2004 of his step-son, Maurice "Bob" Carpenter, who was a play-by-play announcer for the Jackson State Tigers.
