Fourth-grader with cerebral palsy gets wish for trip to Disney World

One look at 9-year-old Antoine McClung's smile in a group of people, and you can tell he's a people person.

Antoine, a fourth-grader at Amanda Elzy Elementary, suffers from cerebral palsy. But his mother, Jennifer Johnson, says he loves crowds and loves to "look, touch and feel."

Level 5 Claudine Brown celebrates

Just ask Anita Ware, the school's principal, who'll head the celebration today.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
