Jackie Lewis, the new principal at St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School, graduated from the school in 1979 and also sent children there. She says she likes the individual attention St. Francis gives its students and the way it teaches them Christian values.

North New Summit School’s new assistant principal says he’s excited about the start of the new school year.

“We’ve got some excellent faculty, excellent staff here. We’ve got a good student body,” said Keith Davis, who also will teach anatomy/physiology and chemistry. “We’re looking forward to a great year here.”

Lowe, 48, a pharmacy tech manager and clinical specialist, has worked for the hospital for nearly 26 years.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
