Nissan supplier brings hope to Holmes

DURANT - A new manufacturer is raising optimism in Holmes County, and the managers of G&C Industries in Durant say the plant has gotten off to a good start.

The plant, which occupies more than 70,000 square feet, makes instrument panels and heat/ventilation/air-conditioning units for the Nissan facility in Canton.

Malouf Construction moving base to Greenwood

Malouf Construction Corp. has announced that it will relocate its corporate and administrative office from Madison to Greenwood.

Malouf, which has 130 employees, has maintained its Heavy, Highway and Marine Division in Greenwood since 1991. The new company will do business as Malouf Construction, LLC.

Constable promises to meet district's needs

McQueen, who has served as Southern District constable for 3-1/2 years, spoke to the Greenwood Voters League.

Irving: Judges should be elected

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
