Exhibit features Ricketts couple, Pinkston collection

The Museum of the Mississippi Delta is bringing together the work of local artists Taylor Bowen Ricketts and Darby Ricketts with the sculpture collection of recently deceased Greenwood art patron Jess Pinkston in a new show set to open on Tuesday.

Number of TFA recruits falls

Greenwood-Leflore Young Professionals welcomed teachers and alumni from Teach for America on Thursday night with a bowling and pizza party at Leflore Lanes.

Tom Reen, a former Teach for America teacher who’s now the regional instructional coach, said he has 16 teachers this year — a lower number than in recent years.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
