Brady faces Chamberlin in runoff

It feels as if we just voted, but there’s another election coming up on Tuesday — the runoff between John Brady and Bobby Chamberlin for Supreme Court District 3, Place 1.

“All 18 precinct polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” Circuit Court Clerk Elmus Stockstill said.

Black Friday begins early

Despite predictions that e-commerce would kill Black Friday, shoppers in Greenwood were pouring into the local J.C. Penney store at 6:30 a.m. today.

The flow was manageable, and shoppers didn’t have to contend with lines. Meanwhile, all up and down Park Avenue and in downtown Greenwood, stores were still sleeping.

Community Concert Band to play first holiday concert Sunday

The band’s first seasonal concert of holiday music will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the First Methodist Church in downtown Greenwood.
