7-year-old soars thanks to Make-a-Wish

Man with knife sparks school lockdown

Davis Elementary School was on lockdown briefly on Tuesday when a man with a knife ran across its yard and tried to enter the school through the front door.

“Thank goodness the school was safely locked,” Greenwood Mayor Carolyn McAdams said Thursday.

2 escapees still on the run

One of the three was apprehended in Carroll County before being returned to custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
