Tchula officer to compete in MMA event

By day, Kendrick Noel is a Tchula police officer. By night, he’s a mixed martial arts fighter.

After the odds were stacked against Noel and he was temporarily paralyzed from the neck down, he didn’t take no for an answer, recovered and is now making his debut as an MMA fighter.

Dealing with dumping

Piles of junk and trash, including old clothes, tattered furniture and broken toilets, are plaguing some beautiful scenery near Lake Henry.

On either side of County Road 539, just off U.S. 49 west of Greenwood, illegal dumping has become a serious problem.
