Wikipedia defines sagging as “a manner of wearing trousers (slacks, shorts, pants or jeans) below the waist, revealing much of the underwear. ...

Outlook rough for new crop of grads

Many of you have done or will do what I did last weekend: attend a graduation.

I went to New Orleans to see my oldest daughter, Amy, graduate from Loyola University.

Every day is a good day in New Orleans, at least if you’re a visitor. But I thought Loyola could have done a better job of putting on the graduation.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
