Another doomsday watch

The world will end next Friday, Dec. 21. Maybe. (I wrote this column this week to beat what could turn out to be the ultimate deadline.)

This latest prediction of the end of the world, aka doomsday, the Apocalypse, Armageddon or the end times, is based on the supposed end of the Mayan calendar.
