Emergency gear check under way

Troy Brown Sr. said Tuesday that his first priority since beginning work as director of the Greenwood-Leflore Emergency Management Agency this week has been an inventory of its emergency equipment.

Brown told the Leflore County Board of Supervisors that the inventory is needed in order to begin planning for responding to disasters.

Disaster will strike in Leflore County, Troy D. Brown Sr. said Tuesday. Now it’s his job to make sure the county is prepared to deal with it.

The Leflore County Board of Supervisors hired Brown as director of the Greenwood-Leflore Emergency Management Agency on Monday.

Supervisors OK new districts

Changes were made in the Leflore County supervisors’ districts under a redistricting plan adopted on Monday.

Supervisors voted 3-2 to accept the plan submitted by Slaughter & Associates, an urban planning firm from Oxford.
