Killings to be subject of documentary series

JACKSON — Four one-hour TV documentaries on civil rights cold cases — two of them cold-blooded 1955 murders of Mississippi blacks active in voting rights — will debut in October as part of a “Murder in Black and White” series aimed at sparking dialogue on the FBI’s recently established Cold Case Unit to reopen unsolved civil rights cases.

Franks, Democrats keyed for rebound

JACKSON — A letter to the editor the other day said George Bush had an endgame strategy in Iraq: to “win” the war he started. John McCain is also using that word “win” as his justification for prolonging our Iraqi involvement.
