Camp owners: Tribbles buy summer site for kids in Georgia

Four years ago, Martin and Kelsie Tribble took a leap of faith.
The couple, in their early 30s with one child and another on the way, left their secure careers and the lifelong familiarity of their surroundings in Greenwood to run a kids’ summer camp in Alabama.
They’ve just taken another leap and bought their own camp.

Justices side with GLH in suit over death

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
