Hospital hires experienced administrator as CEO

Greenwood Leflore Hospital has hired as its new CEO a health care administrator who has spent most of the past decade as the top executive at hospitals in Virginia, Georgia and Alabama.

Jason A. Studley takes over as the chief executive at the Greenwood hospital effective Oct. 19, the hospital announced Wednesday.

MVSU has taken steps to protect against virus

Hospital likely to name new CEO on Wed.

Greenwood Leflore Hospital is expected to announce Wednesday the hiring of a permanent CEO.

The hospital board has met twice this month behind closed doors at special called meetings to discuss an “open administrative position,” most recently this past Thursday.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
