RIDGELAND — In 1969, Prosenjit Poddar, a graduate student from India who was enrolled at the University of California at Berkeley, stabbed fellow student Tatiana Tarasoff to death. The two had been dating. Poddar was in love. Tarasoff wasn’t and told Poddar that she was also seeing other men.
