Violet Hudson likely will be sworn in as Itta Bena’s new alderman at large on Oct. 3 after having garnered 55% of the vote for that post during a special election Tuesday.
According to the unofficial tally, Hudson received 81 of the 147 votes cast, and her opponent, Henry Purnell, received 66 votes, or 45% of the total.
