Riverview resident has COVID-19

The Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce has launched a one-stop “shop” that allows online purchasers to buy gift cards from many local retailers and restaurants at one place via the chamber’s website.

I'm So Greenwood is canceled

One of the city’s more popular events, I’m So Greenwood, has been canceled for 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The family-oriented festival, held each summer in Whittington Park since 2015, was scheduled for Saturday, May 23, but organizer Alfonso Gray of Chicago decided Tuesday it should not go on.

Longtime educator loved his hometown

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
