The Lady Rebels evened their record at 6-6 with a 58-36 triumph over the Lady Stars. Carroll led 21-9 after one, 31-19 at the half and 49-25 after the third.

Suspect ID'd in Cole kidnapping

Greenwood police have identified a suspect in the Oct. 16 kidnapping outside Greenwood Leflore Hospital's Wellness Center.

Andrew Ratliff Jr., 26, of Duck Hill is wanted for kidnapping, armed robbery and carjacking, said acting Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
