A tree fell on top of Greenwood resident Barbara Barrett’s car, which was parked outside of her home at 402 West Jeff Davis Ave. during Thursday’s turbulent wind. Barrett’s nephew, Bobby Musgrove of Philipp, came to his aunt’s house to survey the damage. “The root system is dead,” he said, explaining why the tree loosened easily. When asked what he plans to do to remove the cumbersome limbs, Musgrove smiled and pointed to a chainsaw lying in the grass. He said an insurance representative would be by later to assess the damage.
