Gun verdict isn’t watershed

STARKVILLE — Does the stunning $73 million verdict against gun manufacturer Remington in the 2012 school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, signal a sea change in litigation against gun makers?
In a word, no. Congress has provided near blanket legal immunity to gun manufacturers from lawsuits of this nature.
