STARKVILLE — Haley Barbour’s ability to bridge the gap between establishment Republicans and the more conservative, more dogmatic tea party movement will have infinitely more to do with how far the Mississippi governor’s GOP primary bid goes and the level of success it achieves than will the question of race.
