Missing Carrollton woman found, arrested

CRYSTAL SPRINGS — Linda Reed of Carrollton was arrested this morning in Longview, Texas, Sheriff Harold Jones said.

She was brought back this afternoon to Copiah County, where she will face felony embezzlement charges.

Reed had been missing since April 29, and her family feared she was kidnapped.

Tight space kept family out of press conference

CARROLLTON — When Copiah County Sheriff Harold Jones held a press conference in Crystal Springs last week to discuss allegations against Linda Reed of Carrollton, the Reed family was not allowed in.

Jones said there were reasons, the chief one being space, and the other the family’s unhappiness with his investigation.
