VAIDEN — Mississippi taxpayers are going to have to pay more for safe roads and bridges, state Sen. Willie Simmons told Carroll County supervisors Monday.
“The 18-cent gasoline tax was allotted in 1987 and is not adequate,” said Simmons, who is chairman of the Senate Highways and Transportation Committee.
