Carroll deputies break up party involving Greenwood minors

CARROLLTON — An all-day high school party broke up early when Carroll County deputies were called to the scene this weekend at Pelucia Creek just off Airport Road.

The deputies found a number of intoxicated young drivers on Saturday, according to Carroll County Sheriff Jerry Carver.

Three charged over damage to road

CARROLLTON — Carroll County Sheriff Jerry Carver said his department had a busy first weekend of May, arresting two juveniles and an adult with malicious mischief, for destruction of county property.

The adult is Caleb Marlow from Montgomery County. The three are charged with malicious mischief.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
