We all want some reassurance in our life. We like to know that, just in case the worst-case thing happens, our lives won’t be ruined. We’ll have car insurance in case of a car accident, home owner’s insurance in case a tree falls on our house, and even life insurance so that those we care about can be taken care of when we die.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
