There is a National Chili Cook Off every year in Santa Fe, N.M.

Grandma expects granddaughter

I can’t wait until June 7, 2010, when we welcome Laila Rose Flemming to the world.

Her name means “dark beauty; born at night.”

I wouldn’t take a million dollars for my son, but the thought of having a little girl in the family is so very exciting.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
