Family friend throws first pitch at MSU game

My husband Steve and I do love Mississippi State baseball.

We don’t get to go to as many games as we would like, but this year we couldn’t miss the opportunity to attend the first game of the final home series against Kentucky. A very special person was to throw out the first pitch.

Summer is here, but school memories still fresh

Texting and driving ends way too many lives

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
