Ideal day of cooking, watching Alfred Hitchcock movies

An ideal day can be many things to many people. Last weekend, I had what I consider an ideal day. We are having a girls pre-season basketball tournament at our school, and that means that I am in charge of the coaches lounge for the week. Now that is right up my alley, because I love to cook and feed people.

Things you hear elementary school students say in hallways

I have always loved children and have always wanted to be a teacher. I adore my job and can’t think of doing anything else, most of the time. In any profession, some days are better than others. With elementary age children, sometimes the smallest events can create havoc during your day.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
