An ongoing debt with Leflore County has Itta Bena aldermen looking for a better solution to housing inmates.
The county charges the city monthly to keep inmates in the county jail. In the past four months alone, it has cost the city $11,000.
Itta Bena only has a holding cell, and inmates cannot stay overnight.
