JACKSON - Reports of plant closings and layoffs continue throughout Mississippi, a disturbing trend that one expert says is a symptom of the state's dependence on manufacturing.
Since the first of the year, dozens of companies have either closed or reduced their operations, resulting in pink slips for at least 3,500 people.
