JACKSON - Cy Parks is ready to put his studies at Hinds Community College on hold for now, and will soon be defending his nation's capital as an anti-aircraft gunner.
Parks, 24, is one of about 170 members of the 1st Battalion, 204th Air Defense Artillery, based in Newton, who left for Fort Bliss, Texas, on Sunday.
