Melvin Henderson of Greenwood, center, recently pledged to give
$100,000 over the next five years to his alma mater, Langston
University in Langston, Okla. He’ll pay $10,000 per year for five
years for scholarships for Leflore County students, and an oil and
gas company he’s worked for will match that amount. From left are
