Perhaps no person played more different roles in Greenwood’s civil rights struggle than Edward V. “Deadeye” Cochran.
His resumé spoke for itself:
• Owner of the Plaza Hotel, which housed civil rights leaders, including Martin Luther King Jr., and many famous black entertainers from the 1940s to the 1960s.
