Schools consider sex ed options

The Greenwood Public School District is weighing its two options for how to teach sex education.

The school board has until June 30 to select an abstinence-only curriculum or abstinence-plus. The latter includes information about birth control and sexually transmitted diseases.

Superintendent: Leflore High building has major problems

Leflore County Superintendent Viola Williams told the school board Monday that major infrastructure problems need to be fixed at the district’s Itta Bena high school.

There are leaks in the gym and cafeteria at Leflore County High School that have caused dry rot, she said.
