Golden Age Nursing Home could lose its Medicare and Medicaid eligibility on Aug. 30 following a series of health violations.

Two nurses were caught stealing residents’ pain pills in separate incidents in January and March, and a resident who requested to be resuscitated wasn’t when nurses found her dead body.

Woman admits to cashing dead grandmother’s checks

OXFORD — An Itta Bena woman is facing up to 20 years in prison and $500,000 in fines after pleading guilty Thursday to cashing two of her dead grandmother’s Social Security checks.

Rosie Sandifer, 56, entered her plea during a 20-minute hearing Thursday in U.S. District Court in Oxford before Judge Glen Davidson, court records show.
