An unknown person fired three shots into state Sen. David Jordan’s home Thursday night.

One bullet pierced the back of Jordan’s wife’s car. Another went through a front window of the Bowie Lane residence and crashed into a wall. A third projectile ricocheted off the brick exterior.

North Greenwood Baptist Church will proceed with plans to tear down the Merrick House.

The Rev. Jim Phillips, the church’s senior pastor, said in an email this morning that a previous vote to demolish the historic Grand Boulevard mansion was left in place at a business meeting Wednesday.
