Police probe riot at prison

Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell said today charges will probably be filed stemming from a riot at Delta Correctional Facility once the investigation concludes.

Derek Criddle, 26, was fatally stabbed during a fight in a housing pod Wednesday evening. He was serving 25 years for an armed robbery in Grenada County.

‘The Help’ premiere tickets cost up to $500

Property values in Leflore County rose by about $1 million from 2010 to 2011, Tax Assessor Leroy Ware reported to the Board of Supervisors Tuesday.

That’s about a 0.5 percent increase.
