GHS Boys finish 2nd in region meet

The Greenwood High School boys track team finished second at the Region 3-4A meet held Tuesday at Winona High School.
The Bulldogs had 69 team points, which trailed first-place Caledonia’s 231 points. Kosciusko was fourth with 50 points, and Louisville came in fourth with 17 points.

Pillow Academy netters win district tennis title

The Pillow Academy tennis team brought home the first-place trophy in the girls division at the District 1-5A Tournament held Tuesday at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia.
Pillow took first place in No. 1 and No. 2 girls doubles and mixed doubles. They finished second in No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Prep Softball: Lady Bulldogs rout Coahoma

The Greenwood High School girls fast-pitch softball team scored 26 runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 26-9 win over visiting Coahoma County Tuesday at Whittington Park.
Coahoma tallied five runs in the first and four in the second. GHS outhit the Lady Red Panthers 10-5.
