Bo Giordano will tell anyone who asks, “I’ve returned to the best school in America.”
After a one-year stint at Copiah Academy in Gallman, Giordano is back at Delta Streets Academy, where he served as head basketball coach in 2021-2022. This go around, he is the head football coach of the Lions.

After graduating almost 99% of its offensive production, Carroll is turning the corner with a crop of new and, in some cases, untested players as the 2023 season gets started Friday at Canton Academy, the defending Class 3A state champions.

USM safety is still a Greenwood Bulldog at heart

He may not have graduated from Greenwood High School, but Jay Stanley still considers himself a Bulldog at heart.
Stanley played his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons at Greenwood High (2015-2017) but transferred to Brandon High School, which at the time was a Class 6A school, for his senior campaign in 2018.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
